At Plus, Wiley is leading the company’s Government Affairs and Public Policy strategy and outreach, including working with regulators and other key stakeholders to ensure the safe deployment of autonomous trucks, starting with supervised autonomous trucks. Wiley most recently served as the Deputy Administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration in the U.S. Department of Transportation, where he managed a $600 million budget and was responsible for regulating 530,000 trucking companies, 12,000 bus and motor coach operators and nearly 4 million interstate commercial driver's license (CDL) holders.

Prior to that role, he served as Senior Policy Advisor to the Secretary of Transportation and Director of Governmental Affairs at the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. Prior to joining the U.S. Department of Transportation, Wiley served in the U.S. House of Representatives in various roles for over two decades, including Director of Oversight and Investigations for the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure and Chief of Staff for a senior Member of Congress. Wiley received a B.A. in International Affairs and American Government from the University of Central Florida.

Richard F. (Rick) Dauch has served as CEO of Workhorse, Inc., a commercial EV start-up company based in Sharonville, Ohio since August 2021. He also is an Officer of the Company and member of its Board of Directors.  

Dauch has amassed 40 years of cumulative management and P&L leadership experience across a broad range of disciplines, including operations, sales & marketing, labor relations, strategic planning, finance, and investor relations. He has been the CEO & President of three Tier 1 automotive supplier companies: Delphi Technologies, Accuride Corporation, and Acument Global Technologies.

Dauch served in varied capacities during a 13-year tenure with American Axle & Manufacturing, Inc. (AAM) in Detroit, Michigan where he completed his career as EVP, Global Operations. Prior to AAM, Dauch worked at United Technologies, Carrier Division, where he led the SPP business. Prior to that assignment he was both the site materials and manufacturing manager in Tyler, TX.

Dauch’s corporate career was preceded by his service as an officer in the U.S. Army beginning in 1983, concluding with his assignment as a Light Infantry Company Commander with the 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum, NY. Dauch was qualified as an Airborne-Ranger, Air Assault and expert infantryman.

Dauch earned dual MS degrees in Management and Engineering and is a graduate of the “Leaders for Manufacturing” program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He earned a BS degree in Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point.

John Diez is executive vice president and chief financial officer (CFO) for Ryder System, Inc., a leading commercial fleet management, dedicated transportation, and supply chain solutions company. He is responsible for Ryder’s financial management functions including finance and accounting, treasury, tax, audit, corporate strategy, and investor relations. He is a member of Ryder’s executive leadership team.

From 2019 to 2021, Mr. Diez was president of Ryder’s Fleet Management Solutions (FMS) business unit, the company's largest business segment. He led all areas of global fleet operations, which included providing full-service leasing, contract maintenance, as well as commercial rental of trucks, tractors, and trailers to customers across a variety of industries.

Previously, from 2015 to 2019, Mr. Diez was president of Ryder’s Dedicated Transportation Solutions (DTS) business unit where he was responsible for setting the strategic direction of DTS, which combines vehicles, drivers, and administrative services with drivers and additional value-added services, all dedicated to a specific customer.

He is a member of the Board of Directors for Trinity Industries, Inc. (NYSE: TRN). A licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a member of the American Institute of CPAs, Mr. Diez earned both his BS and MS in accounting from Florida International University.

Tim joined ACT in August 2017, after spending fifteen years in equity research focused primarily on the transportation, machinery and automotive industries.

In addition to his roles analyzing commercial vehicle demand and alternative powertrain development (i.e. electrification), Tim is the lead analyst in ACT’s transportation research effort and the primary author of the ACT Freight Forecast, U.S. Rate and Volume Outlook. This report provides supply chain professionals with better visibility on the future of pricing and volume in trucking, the core of the $800 billion U.S. freight transportation industry, including truckload, less-than-truckload and intermodal/drayage.

This service leverages ACT’s expertise in the supply side economics of transportation and draws upon Tim’s background as an investment analyst. Tim was a co-founder of Wolfe Research, one of the leading equity research firms in the investment industry. While with Wolfe, Tim was recognized in Institutional Investor’s survey of investors as a Rising Star analyst in both the machinery and auto sectors.

His investment experience also includes responsibility for covering the industrial sector of the equity markets, most prominently with leading hedge fund Balyasny Asset Management.

Dr. Chris Kuehl is a Managing Director of Armada Corporate Intelligence. He provides forecasts and strategic guidance for a wide variety of corporate clients around the world. He is the economist for several national and international organizations – Fabricators and Manufacturers Association, American Supply Association, Industrial Heating Equipment Association, Chemical Coaters Association International, Forging Industry Association, and others.  

Prior to starting Armada in 1999, he was a professor of economics and finance for 15 years – teaching in the US, Hungary, Russia, Estonia, Singapore, and Taiwan. He holds advanced degrees in economics, Soviet studies, and East Asian studies.

After graduating from Wabash College in 2006, Ian spent 8 years in the fitness industry as the head trainer at a Columbus-area fitness center. He then transitioned to a digital marketing agency where he spent 4 years as the Director of Digital Marketing Sales.

In this role, Ian leverages years of experience in marketing, business development and technology to provide high-level strategic growth and lead new initiatives.

Ian is married and has two daughters who, fortunately, take after their mother.

Jennifer currently serves as ACT’s Director, CV Market Research and Publications. In this role, she coordinates monthly and quarterly publication production and distribution, serves as media liaison, and researches/analyzes the Canadian macroeconomic and alternative fuel adoption in North American CV markets.

She joined ACT Research in September 2011, and has served in numerous roles, including Office Manager, Research Analyst, and Senior Research Manager and Analyst.

Getting an advanced degree was always a goal for her and in 2000, Jennifer earned her M.S.M. from Indiana Wesleyan University, taking evening classes to make this dream a reality. After receiving her B.A. from Hanover College in Communication and History, Jennifer began an eight-year career in the travel and tourism industry. Additionally, she spent 13 years as a member of the local and regional media industry, where she worked in both print and radio formats, serving as a radio broadcaster, community/local government news reporter, and special programming producer. After serving in various roles, including new technology graphic designer and pre-press technician, she concluded her work in print media as Graphic Design Department Manager for a regional Indiana newspaper.

Jim joined ACT in June 2014. He is well known in the commercial vehicle industry and the broader transportation community for his analytics, his insights, and imaginative, yet down-to-earth management presentations.

Jim previously was Vice President and Chief Economist with Eaton, a position he held since 1996. He retired from Eaton after a 29-year career there, serving various roles in planning, treasury, and economics functions. Prior to joining Eaton, Jim had held consulting and management positions with Chase Econometrics and with Burroughs Corporation.

Jim holds an MBA in finance and a BA (honors) in economics from the University of Chicago. He has served on the Board of Directors of the National Association for Business Economics and has won recognition from both the Wall Street Journal and USA Today for top economic outlook from their respective panels of 50 economics forecasters.

Tom has more than 30 years of transportation-related experience in a variety of public relations, journalism, and lobbying capacities. Tom began his career with the American Trucking Associations in 1978. In 1984, he joined the Private Carrier Conference and two years later was promoted to Executive Director. In 1989, he joined Fleet Owner as Washington Editor, where he worked before taking a job as the Director of Public Affairs for the Georgia Ports Authority. He rejoined Fleet Owner in 1995 as Editor and served in a similar capacity with Randall Publishing until June 2001 when he started his own strategic marketing communications company. He joined NPTC in his current role in January 2007. He obtained his CTP designation in 1997.

Rick Mullininx first joined Great Dane in 1980 when he took a summer engineering position as an intern in the Research and Development department in Savannah. Soon after, he accepted a position as an engineer responsible for developing designs for customer orders. Mullininx continuously gained experience, responsibility, and leadership within the manufacturing and engineering departments at Great Dane.

Prior to his most recent role as the Executive Vice President of Engineering, Mullininx served as the VP of Engineering, responsible for the design and production engineering for five trailer product lines in addition to previous manufacturing engineering duties.

He graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. He also earned a Master of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of South Carolina.

Laura is President of the American Truck Dealers (ATD), a division of the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA). ATD provides programs and services to this highly specialized segment of its membership. ATD represents more than 1,800 franchised medium- and heavy-duty truck dealers holding nearly 3,000 separate franchises, domestic and import.

Previously, Laura served as President and CEO of the American Highway Users Alliance, a nonprofit 501 (c)(6) advocacy organization, the united voice of the transportation community promoting safe, uncongested highways and enhanced freedom of mobility.

Laura has worked in the association world for the past nineteen years. Prior to running the Highway Users, Laura was the Senior Director of Legislative Affairs for the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA).

Before working for the dealers, she served as Director of Government Relations at the American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA), where she ran the organization’s lobbying shop, served as PAC Treasurer, and focused on transportation safety issues.

Additionally, Laura served as Chair of the Road Gang in 2016. She was named one of Association TRENDS Effective Association Lobbyists in 2011 and is a member of the American Society of Association Executives. She received her Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation in 2013.

Amit Prasad is the Chief Data Science Officer for TI Holding Company, the parent company of Transportation Insight (TI) and the Nolan Transportation Group (NTG).
 
Amit leads the company’s new Supply Chain, Data Science and Innovation group, which focuses on the advancement of innovative predictive and prescriptive supply chain solutions and data-driven insights to customers across all three businesses in the TI Holdco portfolio: brokerage (NTG), managed transportation, and parcel. The group is also responsible for introducing, prototyping, piloting and developing advanced operational solutions from concept to final products for internal and external applications.
 
He first came to TI Holdco in March 2021 as Senior Vice President, Corporate Strategy for NTG. Prior to that, Amit served as Vice President, Supply Chain & Data Science for Coyote Logistics, where he built and oversaw the company’s supply chain engineering, AI and machine learning applications, consulting services and other research and innovation initiatives. He has also served as Manager, Global Supply Chain for Hewlett-Packard and as Software Engineer, Science for Manhattan Associates Inc. responsible for designing, developing and implementing advanced algorithmic solutions for supply chain software.
 
Amit studied Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), India. He later attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he earned his master’s in supply chain management.

José Samperio currently serves as Vice President and General Manager for Cummins On-Highway Business in North America.

José has nearly 20 years of Cummins experience across various fields such as engineering, service, strategy and sales.

He has served on the Board of Directors of NACFE (North American Council for Freight Efficiency), and currently sits on the NTPC (National Private Truck Council) Institute Board of Governors and is a member of the Technology and Engineering Policy Committee with ATA (American Trucking Associations). He is also a Board Member for the Trucking Cares Foundation.

Outside of work, José enjoys engaging with his community. He serves on the Board of Directors at the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art and on the Board of Directors of Indiana Sports Corp. He sits on the Parish Council at Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Parish.
José holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M, a master’s in mechanical engineering from Penn State, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business, a master’s in supply chain from Indiana University, and a master’s in economic policy from the University of London.
José, his wife Liz, and their kids, Cecilia (11), Isabel (9) and Louie (9) live in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Mike Schwersenska serves as the General Manager of Brakebush Transportation, Inc (BTI). He oversees all outbound finished goods and inbound raw materials. Mike’s responsibilities also include developing and managing Brakebush’s overall logistics strategy for safety, maximized efficiency, revenue, and cost reduction opportunities. In addition, he is involved in creating a long-term transportation strategy that will ensure cost improvements and a positive customer experience.

Mike joined Brakebush in 1999 and has nearly 30 years of transportation and logistics experience in private fleet and for-hire operations. Under Mike’s leadership, BTI has received numerous awards for fleet safety, network design, logistics operations, and fuel savings initiatives at both the state and national level.

Mike is active in the National Private Truck Council (NPTC) and just finished his six-year term on the Board of Directors. Two of those as Chairman, in which he led the organization through the challenges of COVID. Mike also sits on the NPTC Board of Governors and the Wisconsin Motor Carrier Board of Directors.

In 2010 he earned a Certificate of Transportation and Logistics Management from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Business and finished his B.S. in Business Administration in 2015. Mike earned his CTP from the NPTC in 2013 and was named Private Fleet Executive of the year in 2018.

As Vice President at ACT Research, Steve Tam is one of two principal commercial vehicle market analysts. Since being promoted to his current position in October 2008, he was appointed to the Board of Directors and became a Managing Member of ACT Research in September 2016. He also leads the used truck market efforts for ACT. Other responsibilities include project and database management; and collection, analysis, and reporting of specialty data series. In addition to being frequently sought after as a guest speaker at industry events and giving presentations to private companies, you will often see him quoted in industry publications, newspapers and business periodicals.

A graduate of Indiana University, Steve has also served in the military and spent time in various accounting positions at two Fortune 500 companies before joining ACT Research in 2000. He has been involved in the commercial vehicle industry since 1993 and has been vital to the growth of ACT Research over the years.

Jodie Teuton is a co-founder of Kenworth of Louisiana, a heavy-duty truck dealership group representing Kenworth and Hino with seven Louisiana locations. Before devoting her professional career to the retail auto and truck business in 1997, she practiced law in South Louisiana.

 Jodie is a native of Terrebonne Parish, where she currently lives with her husband and business partner, Scott Oliphant, and their daughter, Victoria.

Jodie earned a B.S. in Business from Nicholls State University in 1987 and a J.D. from Loyola University in 1990. She is passionate about business and proud to continue her family legacy as a dealer. 

She is a past President of American Truck Dealers – ATD (a division of the National Auto Dealers Association) and the current Kenworth Line Representative.      

 Jodie advocates for her industry as well as for the rights of the disabled.

David Teolis is responsible for providing economic analyses, forecasting long-term new vehicle sales, and conducting special studies for the economies of South America, Africa, Middle East, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region. In addition, David is responsible for managing the company’s foreign exchange rate forecast process and writing the monthly Currency Forecast Update report. He also contributes to the quarterly Commodity Outlook report and annual update of GM’s budget and long-term commodity price forecasts. He joined General Motors in 1995 as an economist with primary responsibility for economic and industry forecasting for Mexico, and subsequently worked in several finance positions within the company before returning to the economics staff as the Senior Economist for North America.

David is past-President of the Detroit Association for Business Economics and previously served on the Board of Directors for Global Ties Detroit and the German-American Chamber of Commerce of the Midwest - Michigan Chapter. He is a member of the National Association for Business Economics, the International Institute of Forecasters, and the American Economic Association.

David graduated with a B.A. in economics, with distinction, and an M.S. in finance from the University of Illinois. He earned his Ph.D. in economics from Indiana University.

Bill Van Amburg is a global zero emission transportation expert and market transformation strategist. He has over 45 years of experience that encompasses technology and market development, clean tech commercialization strategies, marketing and communications.

As a consulting strategic advisor, he supports companies and governments to speed climate reductions and create opportunity. He is considered an industry expert in advanced technologies for transportation, with a focus on medium- and heavy-duty vehicles.

For nearly 30 years Bill was the Executive Vice President of CALSTART, North America’s leading clean transportation technology industry organization of nearly 300 member companies and agencies he helped launch in 1992. He was involved in all aspects of CALSTART’s work across cars, trucks, buses and fuels, but was the executive leader of the medium- and heavy-duty truck and off-road equipment sector, CALSTART’s largest area of work. His responsibilities included heading up global and domestic strategy and overseeing the portfolio of work, from incentive programs to technology demonstration and pilot projects to fleet and policy support, as well as the Global Commercial Vehicle Drive to Zero program.

Lydia joined ACT in June 2021 as a Research Analyst, focusing on electrification and autonomy.

Prior to joining ACT, she spent time as a paralegal before working at an energy management SaaS company. Her graduate school research focused on energy policy and battery arbitrage opportunity in the midwest power markets.

Lydia holds a B.A. in Political Science and M.S. in Global Affairs with a concentration on energy and environmental policy from New York University. She lives in Brooklyn, NY.

After graduating from Southern Illinois University, Vieth spent six years in city government and education before joining ACT Research in 1991. Vieth became a partner in 2000 and was named President in 2010. Kenny oversees commercial vehicle analysis and forecasting at ACT. In his capacity as the principal heavy vehicle market analyst, Vieth has become an advisor to OEMs, suppliers, Wall Street, and the Federal Reserve, for whom he is a frequent contributor to the Beige Book report.

In 2008, Vieth cemented a partnership with China’s State Information Center to provide forecasts to Western companies interested in understanding commercial vehicle demand trends in China.
